Phunder valley

Phunder is a majestically beautiful valley in Gupis, Ghizar. Phunder Valley in Gupis is one of the most scenic valleys with easy access both from Gilgit and Chitral. It takes 5 to 6 hours from Gilgit to reach Phunder valley. Phunder Lake is one of the most famous tourist spots in the entire region.

On the way from Chiral to gilgit, Phunder is a beautiful small village about 38 miles from Shandur pass (World’s highest Polo ground is situated at an elevation of about 3738 meters above sea level) 61 Kilometer from Gupis. A couple of kilometers beyond the village is a good campsite in a meadow beside the river, where one can swim, fish (trout) and enjoy the
serene place

Phunder valley was the bread basket for the whole Northern Areas. The name of Ghizer comes from the name of a village 'Ghizer' that is situated in the vicinity of Phunder The deep blue lake in Phunder offers a magnificent view and is basically the home of trout fish.
PHANDUR LAKE is magnificent with the Ghizer River. The lake is situated at the altitude of about 2800m, is well-stocked with trout. The HANDRAP LAKE is also well-known for its trout fishing which is situated at west of Phunder.
